Nigel J.D. Wright

Nigel provides his insurer clients with a unique depth and breadth of experience in coverage (more than 20 classes of business) and disputed claims (litigation, arbitration and/or mediation in more than 50 countries) as both outside (a former partner at two AmLaw 100 international law firms) and in-house counsel (leadership roles at two major international insurers) over a twenty-five-year career.

Nigel is a dual-qualified U.S. attorney (New York and Georgia) and English solicitor. He is a tenacious litigator with a keen commercial sensibility who understands that contentious proceedings and negotiated resolutions are both merely means to the clients’ end: i.e., an efficient and, when possible, relationship preserving claim resolution with minimal adverse business impact.

Nigel has litigated and arbitrated high-severity claims in over 50 countries, typically as lead counsel.  While in-house, Nigel`s responsibilities included handling all classes of ECO and bad faith claims against the company, as well as the most complex and significant claims across most lines of business.

Areas of coverage experience include: Accident and Health, Aviation, Bermuda Form, Construction Defect, Contingency, all Crisis Management lines, Cyber, D&O, E&O, Environmental, Equine and Livestock, Financial Lines, Fine Art and Specie, Marine and Energy, Professional Indemnity, Product liability, Political Risk and Trade Credit, Property (including CAT losses), as well as Reinsurance.
