John has represented U.S., Bermuda, and London insurers in the litigation, arbitration, and settlement of complex high-severity claims for more than twenty-five years. John and his team have supported UK counsel in multiple London arbitrations and anti-suit injunctions.  

Representative Matters

    Representative insurance coverage disputes on which John has served as lead counsel include insurance claims arising from actual or alleged: 

    • PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) contamination and ingestion involving multiple manufacturers 
    • Herbicide manufacturer product liability claims involving damage from two of the most widely used herbicides in the U.S. 
    • Pharmaceutical manufacturer product liability  
    • Liability for natural gas explosions resulting in large-scale injury and damage  
    • Katrina-related oil spill property damage and bodily injury  
    • Deepwater Horizon oil spill liability  
    • Grain bin explosion liability 
    • Flood-induced oil spill liability  
    • Long-tail environmental liabilities arising from legacy multi-national hard rock mining operations  
    • Environmental clean-up liability resulting from soil and groundwater contamination
