For over twenty years, John has provided underwriting, coverage and claims counsel to stakeholders in international insurance markets regarding complex risks and high-severity losses. John was a partner at an acclaimed international law firm before founding Lindemann Miller in 2008.

For contested claims, John supports the Client’s claim examination efforts and facilitates negotiations towards timely, efficient and relationship-preserving resolutions. When necessary, John champions the Client’s interests through international arbitration proceedings or domestic litigation. John has handled cases in many state and federal jurisdictions, addressing a wide array of topics including: aviation, bankruptcy, corporate governance, directors and officers liability insurance, first-party/ property insurance, health hazards, environmental law, professional liability, product liability, and public entity liability.

    • Claims arising from a natural gas explosion at a manufacturing facility implicating a $20 million policy.
    • Claims arising from a grain bin explosion and successful appellate reversal of a $180 million trial verdict, including a record-setting $100 million punitive damages award.
    • Claims arising from Deepwater Horizon implicating a $250 million insurance layer.
    • Claims arising from a natural gas pipeline explosion implicating a $110 million insurance layer.
    • Claims arising from use of a radiopharmaceutical product implicating a $100 million policy.
    • Claims arising from use of various pharmaceutical products implicating $25 million policies.
    • Claims arising from use of a consumer product implicating a $25 million policy.
    • Claims arising from the use of hormone therapies implicating over $100 million in insurance coverage.
    • Claims arising from contraceptive use implicating a $25 million policy.
    • Claims arising from a flood-induced oil spill implicating a $50 million policy.
